Tammy Abraham Denies He Has Chosen Nigeria, Open for England selection

first_imgSwansea City forward Tammy Abraham has denied the reported allegiance to Nigeria adding that he is committed to England and also open for selection.Earlier reports on Thursday had revealed that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is trying to get the England Under-21 international to switch his international allegiance to Nigeria.Speaking via a statement, Tammy Abraham, who is on a season-long loan from Chelsea, is adamant that those reports are not true. He said: “Contrary to reports in the media today I would like to clarify that I have not agreed to switch my national team allegiance.”“I can confirm I met the President of the NFF after our last game against Tottenham at Wembley on Saturday given he is a friend of my father.“However, any suggestion that I have made a decision to change my international representation is incorrect and wide of the mark.“I have informed The FA that I remain available for selection for England.” he concluded. His words would be music to the hears of his club manager, Paul Clement, who had been outspoken about his preference for him to remain an England international.Tammy Abraham has started life well in Wales with 2 goals in 7 appearances for Swansea City.
